How It Works

Our ability to recruit for the best engineering and skilled trade positions starts with our mindset: at CEIS we never settle for good. Apply once and our recruiting team pre-screens you through background checks, references and I-9 compliance verification, then assesses your skills, education, training and work history. We build a profile of your expertise, match you intelligently to openings with our client companies, and talk with you to find the right fit, both professionally and personally. Once placed, you work W2 under CEIS with weekly pay, a benefits package for qualifying candidates, and a referral program that adds to your paycheck when the people you refer are placed.

Frequently Asked Questions

What kinds of jobs does CEIS place?

Skilled trades (welders, fitters, machinists, millwrights and maintenance technicians), engineering (electrical, I&C, civil, mechanical and design), construction management and commissioning, project controls and scheduling, health, safety and environmental, and security-cleared roles supporting DOE and NNSA facilities. Openings run as contract, contract-to-hire and direct hire.

Am I an employee or a contractor?

An employee. All CEIS candidates work on a W2 basis, with liability coverage and a benefits package. Payroll runs weekly, and the online employee portal links you directly to it.

What benefits does CEIS offer?

401(k) plans, profit sharing, and health, dental and vision coverage for qualifying candidates, plus other benefits depending on the terms of your contract. Ask your recruiter what applies to the role you are considering.

How does the screening process work?

We pre-screen all talent through background checks, references and I-9 compliance verification, then assess your skills, background, education, training and past work history. From there we build a profile of your expertise and match you to openings with our client companies, and we talk with you to identify the ideal fit.

Do I need a security clearance?

Only for certain roles. Positions supporting DOE and NNSA sites may require an active clearance, and those postings say so in the title or description. Many openings across skilled trades, engineering and construction carry no clearance requirement.

Can a contract role become permanent?

Yes. Many CEIS openings are posted as contract-to-hire or direct hire from the start, and others convert as projects mature. If your goal is to land somewhere for good, tell your recruiter so we can match you accordingly.

Does CEIS have a referral program?

Yes. Refer similarly qualified talent to CEIS and, as long as the person qualifies for our talent roster, is placed with a client company and continuously fulfills their work contract, you receive bonus pay as a percentage of income. Details are on our candidates page.

I'm an employer. How do I work with CEIS?

Start at our employer services page or call (832) 900-3971. We provide construction management, engineering, safety, skilled trades and security-cleared professionals, along with project support and consulting, from offices in Houston, TX and Albuquerque, NM.
