Senior Software Developer

One Tech Engineering is searching for a Senior Software Developer for a position located in Appleton, Wisconsin.

The Senior Software Developer will manage complex software programs and applications throughout the development lifecycle while analyzing software errors, reviewing status reports and improving application performance.

The role provides senior technical leadership across application design, software development, validation, testing, deployment, support and long-term application ownership.

Candidates must be U.S. citizens or green card holders. The position is not eligible for sponsorship.

Senior Software Developer Responsibilities

• Apply software development best practices to design, develop, test, deploy, support and maintain complex applications based on business requirements.
• Manage new software programs using approved technologies, development standards and coding practices.
• Evaluate user needs and recommend software improvements, enhancements and testing approaches.
• Review programming scripts and development workflows to improve software functionality across assigned projects.
• Lead research into emerging application development technologies and software solutions that may support procurement or future development.
• Partner with development team members to maintain consistency and support timely completion of project deliverables.
• Lead technical problem solving and apply structured processes to software solutions.
• Lead software design and customization for client use with a focus on improving operational efficiency.
• Ensure software-process documentation and validation testing are completed to reduce errors and improve application reliability.
• Provide leadership in cross-functional development practices and application ownership.
• Provide guidance, leadership and instruction to less experienced technical staff.
• Support adherence to established QA/QC processes.
• Follow company and site safety policies.
• Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.
• Comply with applicable company policies and standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Information Technology or a related field with eight years of relevant experience.
• An associate degree in a related technology field with ten years of relevant experience may also satisfy the experience requirement.
• A high school diploma with twelve years of relevant experience may also satisfy the experience requirement.
• Expert knowledge of full-cycle software development methodologies.
• Expert knowledge of relational or NoSQL databases, with SQL Server highly preferred.
• Strong ability to create and work with SQL statements.
• Expert proficiency with HTML, CSS and web fonts.
• Expert technical knowledge of computer equipment, storage, backups, operating systems and tools used in production operating environments.
• Strong attention to detail, facilitation, team-building, collaboration, organization and problem-solving capabilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to approach quantitative problems methodically and analytically.
• Excellent critical-thinking skills.
• Expert proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Ability to obtain applicable professional certifications when required.
