Senior Environmental Engineer

One Tech Engineering is searching for a Senior Environmental Engineer for a position located in Houston, Dallas, Fort Worth or Austin, Texas.

The Senior Environmental Engineer will lead and support environmental and civil engineering projects across a broad range of infrastructure and environmental needs.

Project work may include stormwater management, hydraulic analysis, solid waste, remediation, sustainable solutions, environmental containment systems, water quality and treatment systems and site development.

The role also includes project management, construction oversight, technical reporting, quality assurance, staff mentoring and development of client and regulatory relationships.

Senior Environmental Engineer Responsibilities

• Provide technical solutions for environmental and civil engineering projects.
• Perform engineering calculations using industry-standard tools and software.
• Direct work prepared by junior engineering staff.
• Review junior engineering work products for quality and completeness.
• Prepare and review preliminary engineering reports.
• Develop options evaluations for client projects.
• Prepare design drawings and technical calculations.
• Develop engineering specifications.
• Prepare project work plans.
• Prepare construction reports.
• Develop project cost estimates.
• Use AutoCAD for environmental and civil design.
• Use Civil 3D for site and civil design.
• Use GIS tools where required.
• Design environmental systems and facilities.
• Support earthwork and grading projects.
• Lead stormwater engineering tasks.
• Support wastewater engineering projects.
• Lead or support environmental remediation.
• Support waste-management engineering projects.
• Support environmental restoration projects.
• Prepare technical reports and studies.
• Develop engineering recommendations for clients.
• Help clients evaluate technical alternatives.
• Develop and execute project scope.
• Manage project budgets.
• Develop and monitor project schedules.
• Maintain project quality standards.
• Maintain project safety expectations.
• Manage client expectations.
• Lead construction oversight activities.
• Prepare Construction Quality Assurance reports.
• Deliver internal technical presentations.
• Deliver external client presentations.
• Train less experienced engineering staff.
• Mentor junior staff.
• Develop new client relationships.
• Maintain existing client relationships.
• Develop and maintain regulatory relationships.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a related engineering program from an accredited university.
• Seven years of environmental or civil engineering experience.
• Professional Engineer license required.
• Strong knowledge of standard environmental engineering techniques and procedures.
• Construction oversight experience preferred.
• Strong understanding of construction methods and procedures preferred.
• Project management experience preferred.
• Assistant project management experience may also qualify.
• Experience with environmental engineering design.
• Experience with civil engineering design.
• AutoCAD experience.
• Civil 3D experience.
• GIS experience.
• Strong written communication skills.
