Siting & Routing Project Manager

One Tech Engineering is searching for a Siting & Routing Project Manager for a position located in Chicago, Illinois.

The Siting & Routing Project Manager will support, manage and develop business for electric transmission line routing studies, environmental surveys, NEPA analysis and land-use planning and permitting services.

Projects may include high-voltage transmission lines, renewable energy, power generation construction activities and gas transmission infrastructure.

The role requires strong communication with clients, agencies, local jurisdictions, public officials, property owners, businesses, contractors and technical teams.

Siting & Routing Project Manager Responsibilities

• Manage environmental and land-use permit applications.
• Analyze environmental data supporting project studies and documentation.
• Support high-voltage transmission line projects.
• Support renewable energy projects.
• Support power generation construction activities.
• Support gas transmission projects.
• Prepare transmission routing studies.
• Prepare route evaluations.
• Address regulatory requirements for applicable state applications.
• Prepare environmental studies and evaluations.
• Perform environmental impact analysis.
• Prepare NEPA documentation.
• Conduct pre-application meetings with jurisdictions.
• Coordinate with county and local officials.
• Prepare and submit land-use permits.
• Develop materials for public open houses.
• Support public outreach activities.
• Prepare technical reports related to NEPA compliance.
• Prepare federal permitting documentation.
• Prepare state permitting documentation.
• Prepare local permitting documentation.
• Coordinate with resource agencies.
• Coordinate with environmental staff.
• Coordinate with technical teams.
• Develop related technical studies.
• Build and strengthen existing client relationships.
• Develop new client relationships.
• Support business development activities.

Requirements

• B.S. or M.S. in Environmental Science or Environmental Studies.
• Land Use Planning or Urban Planning degrees may qualify.
• Natural Resource Management degrees may qualify.
• Cultural Resource Management degrees may qualify.
• Related accredited degrees may also qualify.
• Minimum seven years of related professional experience.
• Experience leading technical teams.
• Project management experience.
• Business development experience.
• Ability to manage direct and indirect utilization rates.
• Seven years of routing or siting experience highly preferred.
• Environmental permitting experience highly preferred.
• NEPA documentation experience highly preferred.
• CPCN documentation experience highly preferred.
• Energy Facility Siting and Licensing experience highly preferred.
• Associated testimony support experience is valuable.
• Strong verbal communication skills.
• Strong written communication skills.
• Ability to communicate with public officials.
• Ability to communicate with agency representatives.
• Ability to communicate with property owners.
• Ability to communicate with businesses and clients.
• Ability to coordinate with construction contractors.
• Experience with resources and agencies in Ohio, Indiana or Kentucky preferred.
• Experience in other PJM states preferred.
• Strong time management skills.
• Strong follow-through and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Ability to work under tight deadlines.

• Ability to travel up to 20%.
• Must be a U.S. citizen or green card holder.
